HIKING THROUGH KOREAN CULTURE

Students spend half-day hiking, with each afternoon spent engaging in Korean Cultural or Service activities. These could include touring the Otter Observatory or Bear restoration project, meeting with wildlife experts, participating in ceramic / pottery and other local craft experiences, engaging with traditional artists and poets, and Geo-caching / smartphone navigation.

Students gain fitness by walking along the Seomjin river, relieve stress soaking in the fresh air of the southern mountains, and deepen their experience of traditional Korean culture.

"Strenuous walks, loud and heated card game sessions and too much good food would be three things that defined the 5 days I spent in Jirisan with my Discovery Week group. But it didn't end there, my understanding of the Korean culture got enriched and gave me a deeper insight into the country I live in. I loved it!"
