SECOND PLACE

“Suncheon Bay Wet Land: The merging of nature and people”

Keren Ben-Shoshan

“This photo was taken in Suncheon Bay Wet land, a place where nature has merged with people creating an appreciation for landscape, and the peace nature brings to humans. As I was walking around the wet land, it occurred to me how people have chosen to come and walk through nature, with man made accommodations such as the bridges and built walking pathways. In the photo, the purpose was to capture exactly this. The bond, the strolling and the calm surrounding people, showcasing how nature has, and always will be a source of support peacefulness to mankind.”

THIRD PLACE

“Naganeupseong folk village: Where modernism sees tradition”

Keren Ben-Shoshan

“This photo was taken in the Naganeupseong folk village, where tradition and respect for tradition are highly evident. Even when exiting the folk village, there is a sense and feel of safety and respect from the people who roam the streets and area. Naganeupseong folk village was an eye opening experience, reminding me personally of the beauty in difference, the beauty in tradition and the beauty in simplicity. In the photo, the purpose was to primarily showcase the pathway as a connection between people and the simplicity surrounding them. Simplicity, in this case, is represented by the huts that are lived in til this very day.”
